Testing Linux

I'm trying to contribute to Linux by doing some testing of the very latest kernel releases. I don't know much about Linux kernel programming, but I do know enough to screw around with development code and write up good bug reports.

When I write up a bug, I'll make a note of it here and include a copy of the .config file I used here.

2.4.0-test1-ac4

2.4.0-test1 and -ac4 both seem to mostly work fine on my laptop except that the tulip.o ethernet driver doesn't work on my Digital DS21143 ethernet chip. The de4x5.o driver, which also supports tulip chips, seems to work fine but you cannot configure both into the kernel (even as modules) because the broken one takes control first.

apa1480_cb.o has unresolved symbols
This causes my Adaptec 1480A to be unrecognized
